CINCINNATI — May 15, 2020 – The RESTART Task Force launched a website to help businesses as they responsibly return to work and to commerce. The site features a dynamic and developing list of local companies that are selling key PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to businesses. It also includes a growing database of plans that companies and organizations are sharing publicly to help other businesses craft Responsible Return Plans. The site can be found at www.restartcincinnati.com.
The PPE resource, developed by the team at the City of Cincinnati’s Office of Data and Performance Analytics, allows any supplier to upload contact information and details on available products. The site already features nearly a dozen listings of products available to local businesses.
The Responsible Return resource allows companies to upload and share their return plans and protocols. It includes plans from Turner Construction, Kroger, Cushman and Wakefield, 3CDC, and the City of Cincinnati. Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky industry return plans are available for download. The RESTART Task Force has indicated that returning to work and commerce is a precompetitive effort, and encourages businesses to share their learnings and best practices so that others can improve and drive a healthier and safer recovery.
“We’ve heard loud and clear that our region’s businesses are looking for resources that will help them create safe and healthy environments for their employees and customers,” said Jill Meyer, President and CEO of the Cincinnati Chamber. “A Responsible Return is something we can all achieve if we work together, and the RESTART Task Force site is a helpful resource for any business in our region. We encourage businesses to share their plans, protocols, and best practices.”
Access to PPE resources are a crucial part of a Responsible Return, and the site features a tool where companies that are selling PPE of any kind can upload their products into a sortable directory. “We have incredible companies in Cincinnati and in our region, and they are meeting the moment to provide PPE to all of us as we restart,” said Mayor John Cranley. “Thanks to the City of Cincinnati’s data team, we can easily showcase vendors and suppliers in our region who are making products available to other companies.” Companies are urged to upload their products to the site.
The site is crowdsourced from businesses and reviewed regularly by the Chamber and the City of Cincinnati. However, the site does not endorse PPE suppliers and does not provide legal advice for Responsible Return plans.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cincinnati Regional Chamber introduced RESTART Playbooks by industry and the Principles of a Responsible Return to prepare local business for the reinstatement of commerce. The Chamber also produces Daily Update emails featuring relevant information from local, state, and federal governments, and manages a repository of resources on the Business Center and Business Briefing archives.
The RESTART Task Force was created in March 2020 to coordinate and provide leadership to the Cincinnati region as it recovers and regains momentum post COVID-19. The Task Force is focused on areas of economic development, arts/culture/sports, commerce, public and social health, education, and government. RESTART is a project of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, the Cincinnati Business Committee, and the Cincinnati Regional Business Committee.
