Why should I join? What are the benefits of membership?

There's no single reason why businesses join the Cincinnati Chamber. See all the reasons here.

What are the dues? Are dues tax deductible?

Dues are based on the number of full-time employees in your company, with 4 exceptions: accounting firms, commercial banks, law firms, and hotels/motels. Federal tax law limits the deductibility of a portion of membership dues used for certain lobbying efforts. For 2022, 94% of your Chamber dues may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense. Dues are not a charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes. Contact your tax professional with any questions.

How do I calculate my firm's number of full-time equivalent employees?

Chamber dues are based on the number of full-time equivalent employees in your company. If your company has full-time and part-time employees, use this formula to determine your number of full-time equivalent employees:
2018_FAQgraphic

How do I figure out the number of professionals?

For accounting firms: Employees, owners and/or partners performing billable work, including CPA's, CPA candidates, consultants and others. For law firms: Attorneys (including Associates and Partners), paralegals and others performing billable work.

What are prorated dues?

When a company joins the Chamber, they pay one full year's dues, regardless of the date they join. All membership renewals are effective in January, so when the company gets its first renewal invoice, the bill will be for the months from the anniversary join date until the following January. We use prorated billing so that all of our members are on the same billing cycle. For questions, contact the Customer Focus Center, 513.579.3111.

How do I calculate my benefit savings?

Use our savings calculator to "do the math" and determine whether, in addition to the networking, education and advocacy benefits, membership in the Chamber makes sense for your business.
