Immigrants and refugees make up nearly 7% of the regional population and possess $2.9 billion in annual spending power.
As part of this work, Cincinnati Compass advocates for economic, social, and civic inclusion; connect individuals and organizations to resources and to each other to build capacities and opportunities; and promote and celebrate the cultural and economic contributions of new Cincinnatians. We focus our work in areas of workforce and small-business development, civic engagement, public health, and creating a sense of belonging for new and long-term residents alike.
Cincinnati Compass has 3 key objectives:
- Create a region where immigrants and refugees feel welcome, wanted, and important.
- Develop and expand opportunities for economic and cultural inclusion.
- Influence policy change towards more inclusive and welcoming practices that open more cultural and economic opportunities for immigrants and refugees benefiting the entire region
Cincinnati Compass works collaboratively across sectors at the local, state, and federal level. We are joined with six cities across Ohio to form Vibrant Ohio and more than 50 partners with Ohio Business for Immigration Solutions.
